Our Thoughts: Took the day off work so that we could get a good low tide day minus the inevitable crowds.
We arrived by 10AM in the morning (lots of parking). The tide was going out as we arrived, and we checked the tide chart at the park and noticed it differed from what we had found online by a few hours, but it worked in our favor.
We spent an hour or two on the beach, following the tide as it rapidly left the beach. Nearly got soaked by the geoduck and clam landmines (many close calls for us both!)
We saw many gulls (no id's), crows, a great blue heron, and a very happy, very good dog.
We took the north and south rim trail to do a loop through the park (camping was not open so we saw many unoccupied sites and a handful of folks on the trail)
The snack shack opened as we left and we both enjoyed a hotdog.
We'll need to come back for the geocache (couldn't spot it). We're still learning how to find them!
Two rocks collected: hardness lvl 6 (at least), un-id'd, red and yellow/white/gray
